Closing Games Turnhout

The last two weeks i only saw circuits and cars but now it was time for some shorttack speed-skating.

This year more then 165 skaters joined the last competition of the season in Turnhout. This competition has no all final system but a time based classification.

In the first round everybody has to set a fast time. Then the next round they go straight to the final of that distance. The layout of the races in the final is based on the time of the heats. This is the only way to let all the skaters skate 4 times in one day.

It is not the most fair system but everybody is used to it and likes the simple system.

I did the photo finish at this competition and i enjoyed watching the races. After a long season the skaters still managed to go fast enough to break there own personal records. During this competition there is no pressure of national championships or what ever so the skaters are relax and easily break there records.

After the competition i went straight home for my sisters birthday party and tomorrow i can finally can sleep with using the alarm clock.

Now there is only one week left to focus me on school and then i go to Mexico for a nice holiday. During this holiday i will also update my website to let everybody enjoy the nice pictures of Mexico

Meudon French cup open junior

This weekend i went to the junior competition in Meudon.
Meudon is a city attached to Paris.

In Meudon they have a small ice-rink so it is only good for juniors. Compared to a normal ice ring it is narrow by 4 meters. And that makes the boarding always close by.

I operated the photo-finish camera this weekend with success. Everything went smooth all the way.

It was a long weekend. Especially on Sunday. On Sunday a visit by the major was planned but he would be there at 13.00. We planned the competition to end at 13.00 so we have to plan an extra break.

If we knew this before we could have stopped earlier on saturday and started later at sunday

Open Dutch Championchip

Last weekend i was a volunteer during the open dutch championchip.

After one year the skating club of Jaap Eden Amsterdam has the title of ODC Back.

And you can see the result of that back in the number of competitors. This year there where 85 skaters from 5 countries.

My Jobs during this competition where really different from each other. I had the following jobs:

Track steward
Result copying
Constructing a podium
and many more.

It was a nice weekend and a heavy weekend.

This Friday i will leave to Meudon (France) to do the time keeping there.
 

New job at World Cup

i got a different job at the world cup shorttrack this weekend.

instead of the photofinish i do my usual job sound-engineering

ISU World Cup ShortTrack Herenveen

2 till 4 February the ISU world cup Shorttrack is in Herenveen.

 I will be there to operate the photo-finish camera for 3 days.
